Woefully under-promoted, this slipped under most people’s radars. It’s been a while since 2008′s Superabundance, but this makes up for it. Delivering everything you expect from the three-piece from Leicestershire – mainly Gang of Four-esque post punk swagger – but with a little more edge towards the end of the album, where the true strength of the album lies. Arguably, the tracklisting is backwards, with the last three songs showing the newest angle on the Young Knives’ sound, and the earlier songs leaving you think you’ve heard it before. In that respect, if they don’t continue the direction signposted by the end of the album, the sort of publicity this effort got could end up being deserved.
These two songs (that should arguably be one – hence why I’ve combined them on the same video) are worth the price of the album alone.
